PEEC – PEACE EDUCATION IN EARLY CHILDHOOD TO PREVENT BULLYING

The main goal of the PEEC project is to promote and encourage education for peace in early childhood education and care (ECEC). The project is aimed towards teachers and educators involved in early childhood education, to further professionally train them and raise their awareness of the importance of education for peace as a foundation for the prevention of discrimination, exclusion, racism and violent behavior. Furthermore, the purpose of the project is to promote the values ​​of equality and social inclusion, and open dialogue as the foundation of the European Union.

GOALS:

  • Encouraging the development of innovative educational approaches to raise awareness among educational staff

  • Exchange of good practices, experiences and knowledge on peace education among partner countries

  • Promoting equality, diversity and inclusion

  • Prevention of discrimination, exclusion, racism, mobbing and violent behavior in early childhood

  • Encouraging nonviolent, open communication aimed at problem solving

MAIN ACTIVITIES:

  • Development of a transnational curriculum for the training of teachers involved in early childhood education and care

  • Research and revision of existing practices in early childhood education and care

  • Development of professional guidelines for the training of teachers and educators with an emphasis on peace education as a basis for promoting equality, diversity and inclusion, and as a basis for the prevention of violence and violent behavior at an early age

  • Development of a methodological package for teachers and educators that includes open educational and didactic materials

TOTAL VALUE OF THE PROJECT:

  • 158.478,00 € (funded by the Erasmus+ K2, Germany Agency for mobility)
