TRACE.HR – THE STORY IN YOUR HANDS
Duration: 01/12/2025 – 31/08/2026

The project TRACE.hr – The Story in Your Hands is aimed at encouraging children and young people to actively participate in the cultural life of their own community through researching, collecting, and creatively interpreting local stories. Starting from a rich yet increasingly less present intangible cultural heritage, the project gives children the opportunity to become researchers, storytellers, and content creators who preserve and reinterpret the stories of their region.

Through educational workshops in primary schools, professional support for teachers and volunteers, and the development of a digital platform, children explore, document, illustrate, and interpret fairy tales, legends, and other forms of oral tradition. The project connects cultural, linguistic, artistic, and digital literacy while fostering creativity, critical thinking, and teamwork. A special value of the project lies in the strong connection between schools and the local community. Parents, libraries, cultural institutions, and senior members of the community are involved in the process, encouraging intergenerational cooperation and knowledge transfer. The project contributes to strengthening local identity, with children becoming active creators of cultural content.
